Jessica and the moon flower fairies is a children's book that explores the world of eight-year-old Jessica and her two friends, Joey and Katie. Joey and Katie are cousins. The children play together during the long summers in Georgia, where Jessica's family owns a summer house. One day the children play next to a field of beautiful flowers. Jessica informs the other children that the one type of flower they were looking at is called a moon flower. She explains that this flower only blooms at night. The children decide to come back at dusk to see the flowers bloom. The flowers do bloom, and beautiful butterflies and moths are attracted to them. The children take pictures and find out that the moth is not a moth but a fairy. They return to see the fairy and are very surprised that the fairy talks to them and invites them on adventures that will last the entire summer. At the end of the summer, the children must say good-bye to the fairy world and each other. Their fairy friend, Ambrosia, tells them they can also talk to fireflies. This excites the children because they can go home and begin talking to the fireflies for more exciting adventures.
